Alle meine Rezensionen ansehen Rezension bezieht sich auf: Quantenphysik (Taschenbuch) Most books in quantum mechanics either focus on a pure - axiomatic - mathematical treatment of this discipline and thus neglect the underlying physics in this field, or, on the contrary, stress the physical principles on disadvantage of a higher mathematical level and clarity. In contrast to those books, this one is outstanding: It combines the author's excellent teaching skills with very clear and precise mathematical derivations of various quantum phenomena by always putting emphasis on the underlying physics! In this way, the student will soon experience a steep learning curve with this tutorial. In addition, numerous exercises in this book provide deep insight into the applications of quantum mechanics that are especially useful for students who want and need to apply the principles of this subject to their experimental research. Therefore, the reader can extensively benefit from the precise mathematical treatments but never gets lost by a lack of the underlying physics of the various quantum phenomena. In summary, this book is very convenient for self-study, both for the novice and advanced students in physics, chemistry, and mathematics, who require a thorough mathematical and physical background in quantum mechanics. If the author could publish another volume that primarily deals with relativistic quantum mechanics, the student would have a complete training course in both non-relativistic and relativistic quantum mechanics to tackle most applications in these fields.
